And it was gorgeous (and huge!! They give you a map and I still kept getting lost). There was lots of art from all over the world and it was all quite lovely but here are my favorite parts:

The musical instrument collection was surprisingly big and small at the same time? But I loved all the weird shapes from Europe’s experimental phase, and the instruments from across different countries and cultures were so interesting to see. It made me want to get another master’s degree, in ethnomusicology, like I originally planned to years ago. But I’m poor and I sucked at tonal harmony/music theory so that’s unlikely to happen anytime soon.

So much ancient Egyptian jewelry! The colors and shapes of the beads are just so lovely and neat to look at. Humans really have been like ‘shiny, must wear’ for a long time.

My favorite pottery was probably the ancient/prehistory or close to cultures and that of ancient Greece (because of course. We have so many great intact vessels, it seems). I didn’t get a lot of pics of those but for the really old stuff concentric circles and zigzags and animals were on them a lot.
There’s more stuff! But it is all textiles or textile and clothes related so I think I might save it all for a separate post. Some other art I found nifty ahead!

Textiles incoming in the future~
Ta for now!
